That’s fancy-talk for “The website is different now since it’s after the con.”
How different? Not very. Some new stuff will be on the front page, letting you know anything big going on, such as how you can order your Season 4 DVD to go inside your case! Or, how you can give us feedback!
And, of course, if you’re suffering from Shio and Kosho withdrawal, you can follow them on their journey towards World ConQuest in their new webcomic.
Keep your eyes on our Facebook or Twitter pages for info on cons we’ll be attending, general updates, and info on KAMI-CON SEASON 5: SHIO & KOSHO VS THE WORLD!
Woo! Yeah, exciting stuff.
Greetings, Kami-Congoers!
Hopefully you’ve all had a chance to get home, rest up, and feel recharged. We finally have, so here’s one big After-Con Update!
Now when I say big, I mean BIG, so I’m going to break it up into sections for you and you can choose what you want.
We had a whopping 2,468 of you registered! That’s a teeny tiny drop from last year, but this is our first year charging so we are BLOWN AWAY! Thank you all so much for coming out, having fun, and supporting us!
This one was crazy! There was never a clear winner, as each and every single animal mascot took the lead multiple times each day. But in the end, the dark crazy people inside you surfaced, and the BLACK YANDERE TURTLE won!
The turtle amassed a ginormous 2.4 MILLION Otaku Spirit Points!
The Black Yandere Turtle will be featured as Shio and Kosho’s permanent magical mascot and will appear on the site, in artwork, and even on stage from here on!
For those curious, after the Yandere Turtle, the Shonen Bird came second, the Shojo Tiger came third, and the Tsundere Dragon came last.
Thanks for playing, everyone! We hope you all had as much as we did with this game, and we hope you enjoyed our Kami-Gotchies!
Season 4 has drawn to a close, but the story continues! The egg may have hatched, but Shio and Kosho must defeat the Turtle’s 7 Magical Exes before they can claim it as their own!
Join us next year for
where Shio and Kosho take on the 7 Magical Exes!
You guys have no idea how much feedback helps us! The positive, the negative, we want it all! Some of you turned in the surveys at the con, which were very helpful, but we want even MORE!
There are lots of ways you can give us feedback! You can…
- Use our Feedback Form to send us feedback directly: http://www.kamicon.net/feedback.php
- Post to one of these threads on our forums: http://kamicon.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=47
- Post to our wall on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/kamiconstaff
- Link us to a review you may have already written on your blog
- E-mail us at kamiconstaff@kamicon.net with the subject line “Feedback”
Remember, we want ALL feedback! Good or bad! We absolutely cannot improve if we don’t know where a problem is. We had lots of staff, but we can’t see everything. Even if you think we already know or have heard it before, we want to hear it! If this con stands for anything, it’s that your input matters!
So, you got your DVD cases at the con, now what the heck do you do with them?
You order the DVD, of course!
The Kami-Con Season 4 DVD will be a collection of videos and pictures highlights from the con. Who knows, maybe you’ll see yourself on it!
The DVD is only $15, which includes shipping. It’s a great deal, and it will fit perfectly into your DVD case that you got at the con!
You can order your Kami-Con S4 DVD here! http://www.kamicon.net/dvd.php
We have several lost and found items that were left at the con, so if you left something, LET US KNOW! Send us an e-mail to kamiconstaff@kamicon.net letting us know what you lost and we’ll see if we have it, and if we can get it back to you.
Also, you may have noticed the “Web Comic” tab that’s been sitting up there on our website for so long. Well, it’s finally up with one of our brand new webcomics!
World ConQuest will detail the adventures of Shio and Kosho after they have stepped into the tall grass of World Domination! With their new mascot in hand, they shall lead Kami-Con and its loyal followers to rule the world with Imagination!
No, not that.
So go read, comment, and support! Who knows what kind of adventures will unfold for the girls, and you, in World ConQuest!
We’ve gotten a few questions about people not being able to log into the forums since last year. We sent out a notice about this, but it’s possible some of you missed it. We completely remade our forums on a completely new host, and unfortunately we were unable to transfer any data, so anyone who was on the forums previously must re-register. We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused!
Bryan Howard - Webmaster/Crisis Management/More: Hey all, I’m the guy you hear when you’re reading these updates and the majority of our tweets. I really enjoy being able to communicate things to you guys through the site, since I don’t get to interact much at the con. I want to thank everyone for playing our game and things like that, because the con is all about interaction, and without you guys we are nothing. So thanks a bunch, and I’m gonna cut this off here and let the others go.
Chelsea Morrison - VP-Chels: I want to thank all of our con-goers, epically the ones who volunteered and all of our staff. I love you guys, thanks for making season 4 crazy awesome!
Anthony Jennings - Crisis Management: I want to thank everyone, guests, con-goers, staff, and the volunteers. This was one of the best years ever. I hope to see you all again next year!
Anindo Sarker - Crisis Management : Each year I am amazed by the loyalty of all our con-goers, commitment of our staff and willingness of our guests to make Kami-Con something outstanding. I fully believe that season 4 was the best Kami-Con yet. I have full faith season 5 even better.
Dustin Gilliland - Co-head of Security: A huge thank you to all of our con-goers! You guys make all the time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears worth it. Another big thank you to all of our staff and volunteers who make the magic happen! I’m forever amazed at just how much talented and dedicated people can accomplish in such short periods of time. I am honored to be counted among you.
Matthew Hurtubise - Game Room: Thanks to all the con-goers who came down and participated in the tournaments, as well as the staff and volunteers that helped me run them. Also, thanks to everyone who donated consoles, games, TVs, controllers, fans, and accessories. There’s no way I would have been able to do everything down there by myself. You guys are awesome.
Evan Ware-Mickens - Security/Anime Viewing Room : I would like a personal thanks to the staff volunteers and the congoers especially for making this year great. The happiness of all of the congoers makes it all worthwhile and fully motivated me to keep working. I hope to see many people next year! SWAG ON A HUNDRED
Trevor Allen - Security/Anime Viewing Room/Game Room: Never before have I thought that being on a team of 17 people to handle 2500 would be enjoyable; yet somehow, the congoers managed to make it so. A humongous “thank you” to everyone on staff; but most importantly, thank you to all the people that made Kami-Con the most fun I’ve had on the minimum amount of sleep. Also: come on and slam. And welcome to the jam.
Taylor Nikole von Ubin - Head Maid/ Dodge ball: Hey guys its Taylor, and i wanted to let you know how much fun i had with you guys. Dodge ball has never been more fun. Who would have thought that the great saiyaman could get a bunch of the staff to play some dodge ball. Maid cafe has never been more successful, i wanted to let you know that even as we grow and expand we look forward to meeting more of our con-goers that make this convention so amazing. so Thank you staff! Thank you con-goers! We will see you again next year!
Colby Smith - Information Desk/Pokemon Center/Dodgeball Helper: I want to thank each and every one of the congoers who came to Season 4. Our staff may work all year to make it happen, but it wouldn’t be nearly what it is without you guys! I have to give a special shout out to those of you who were honest and turned in items that had been lost by others – it made me swell with pride at the integrity of our fans. Otherwise, this con was amazing and so much fun! I loved interacting with all of you, whether it was in panels, at the Information Desk, or during the Dodgeball Tournament! Thank you all for your support, and of course… Thank you to my fellow staff for all your hard work at keeping our congoers happy and making this the BEST CON EVER!! I love the relationship we all have with each other and hope it continues for many years~?
Stephen Campbell - Prof. Tree/Tech/Security: This was actually my first Con I’ve ever attended, so I really had to hit the ground running. That said, it was an absolute blast and I am so glad to have been involved. I’d like to thank our Con-goers for being so easy going and friendly and our special guests for being so fantastic to work with. Hope to see tons of you again next year!
Kalani Farrelly - Head of Anime Room/Security: First time with any experince with the Anime Viewing Room, And it went over so well. I loved how much fun it was talking to you all, joking around and playing triva to pass those extra minutes between Anime. The staff that helped me run the Anime Room: Terence, Trevor, Jonathan, Evan, and Greg; Thanks for all the help guys you guys did real good! Till next year con-goers
Tiffany Scarborough - Information Desk/Amu: First of all, I have to give a shout out to all the staff & volunteers! Thanks for nearly killing yourselves to make this Kami-Con the best ever! Also, a HUGE shout out to all the congoers! It’s you guys that make us want to keep doing this! You’re all like family to us & we try so hard each year to make each one of you happy. It also makes me proud to have congoers be so interactive in the panels. Karaoke, Anime Dating Game, & Iron Cosplay were successes because of you guys! I ? you Kami-Congoers!!!
Hudson Brainerd - Security/AMV Contest: This was my first anime con, and it was amazing. To all the staff and volunteers: it was a pleasure working with you. Everyone I met was competent and willing to help. To all the congoers: You were a friendly and colorful bunch, well worth the effort we put into this event. It was a joy to run the AMV contest for you. I especially enjoyed the quality and variety of your cosplay, and I was very impressed by the number of times y’all came to me with lost wallets and cellphones to return to their owners. I’d love to see y’all again next year! To all the AMV creators: Thank you! You gave us some wonderful videos this year, and we had a great show because of it!
Lisa Mitchell - Head of Registration: To all of our amazing con-goers, Thank you for coming to Kami-Con this year and we hope you all had a wonderful time. As Head of Registration, I would like to thank you all personally for being patient and cooperative for our first year of being a pay-convention. We are so glad to have all of you join us every year, for it is you guys who make the convention special.
Sean Gillooly - Head of Gofers/Volunteers: Thanks to the staff for making all of this possible. It was great working with all of you, and your energy and dedication kept me going despite the exhaustion. Thanks to the con-goers for coming out and participating again this year, you made it even more fun and exciting working here than last year. And thanks especially to the volunteers. I wasn’t really sure what to expect going into this, but the number of you that showed up (more than we had schedules and armbands for!), your eagerness to help, and your willingness to work caught me off guard in the best possible way. You really helped to keep things going this year, and it was a pleasure getting to work with all of you.
Shannon Huggins - Head of Artist Alley: After four years of experience in this position, I am still blown away by how amazing our artists are every year. I can’t tell everyone enough how thankful I am by the amount of cooperation and understanding our artists have about everything. I especially loved the artists who would take the time to stop me and ask if -I- was doing okay. It really makes all of the hours and the stress worthwhile. All of the notes and emails they have sent after the con are also wonderful! They mean so much. ? The congoers were also especially amazing this year. I was so happy to talk with all of them in the panels I helped out with and some of the events. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun and I was very happy to do my part in making that happen as staff. Also: all of the staff and volunteers who helped me out deserve a great big thank you!
Matt Jones - Rave / Tech: It feels like just yesterday that we started this convention and were only 400 strong. To have 2400 people show up in a small college town to celebrate Japanese culture is pretty amazing. With your support, Kami-con is and what it should be: God-con. You see what I did there? None of what I do as a Tech Staff Chairman or DJ could be done without your support and kindness. I was brought to tears by the overwhelming amount of support for the rave. I can not put to words how blessed I am to be a part of this family. I know it’s really early in our relationship, but I’m absolutely in love with you! Thank you so much!
And what does our fearless conchair have to say about it all?
Raymond Lenzner - Conchair: yayness,zzzzz
Fantastic.
Thanks, all! We’ll be working throughout the year, so keep an eye on updates and our webcomic!
We love you all!
