What aspects or your costume will we be judging?
All of it!!
Awards will be given out for the following categories:
- Best Character Costume
- Best Accessory (Weapon, Item, etc)
- Best Original Costume
- Best Personality Portrayal
- Best Skit
- Judges' Picks
Explanations:
- Best Character Costume - This prize is for the best costume created based on a character's design. Special attention will be paid to the little details and the level of complexity of the costume.
- Best Accessory - This prize goes to the cosplay with the best prop. No good at sewing, but able to make a perfect replica of the Master Sword? We have a place for you.
- Best Original Costume - This goes to the designer who went above and beyond and made an original cosplay, not based on any specific character design.
- Best Personality Portrayal - Can you do amazing impressions? This prize goes to the cosplayer who can best capture their character's personality before the audience.
- Best Skit - This prize goes to the cosplayer(s) with the best skit! What makes a good skit? Effective planning, intensive rehersal, and a little bit of humor couldn't hurt. (^_~)
Entrants may participate in group cosplays.
We especially encourage attendees to enter with skits! Skits are oftentimes the best part of a cosplay contest and can be a great source of entertainment!
*Times for Pre-Judging Will Be Announced Closer to the Con
Cosplay Skits:
Basic Rules:
- Must be under 5 minutes in length (Going a little bit over is fine, but don't push it.)
- Content must be rated no higher than PG-13
- Props are okay if set up quickly
- Music for the skit must be handed to us at the Cosplay Pre-Judging. (CD is preferred.)
